Rulebooks, Centennial Celebrations and Collectibles
In 1986, CP Rail celebrated 100 years of existence. The hand-drawn 100 reflected the rail lines and the tag line reminded the Corporation of a rich history, a strong present day and a challenging future. This book was given to all current CP employees to appreciate the role CP had in Canada's history.

With the rise of the German Nazi regime and brave soldiers who oppose him, this illustration of the 1940s celebrates a majestic hotel, Canada's involvement in the war effort and the introduction of the Studebaker. Pen and ink on illustration board.
Prime Minister Sir John A Macdonald approves William Van Horne's efforts to create he first Canadian railway that stretches from west to east coast. Bridges are built, tunnels are constructed, CP hires many labourers and in 1886, the Last Spike is struck at Craigellachie, British Columbia . Pen and ink on illustration board.

The yards in the US needed rules that didn't have a root in the Canadian version, as operating rules change once you are across the border. I created this manual with full colour to show the rich landscapes in which CP travels. I wanted a design that didn't mimic common-looking rulebooks.

To help prevent accidents and injuries on CP Rail property, the Customer Safety Handbook was developed for customers who must operate on CP Rail's property. I used a photo from "Morant's Curve" as a beauty shot, I then included employees from different companies to show how important their involvement is with the Company. Each department of the railway had their own unique rules to follow, and some common rules that pertained to the entire railway. I developed these books for each of the four operating departments, giving each division its own colour, as to differentiate which departmental rule book was being used. Created in CorelDRAW.

The Prime Minister of Canada and all the Premiers (except Quebec) took at train ride on CP Rail's prestigious Rocky Mountain Tour. This three-day trip stopped at each historically significant station between Vancouver to Calgary. A commemorative book was created for those honoured guests. 24 pages, full colour and only 20 copies made. Created in Adobe InDesign.
Corporate profile for Le Groupe Inter-cité. I echoed the corporate multi-mark and placed difference services offered to customers along with the visage of a customer seeing the use of the products. Created in Photoshop and CorelDRAW.
